BWSSB is currently implementing many projects in many fronts to cater to the growing demands of the Bangalore Metropolitan Area. The Following table provides the link to details on various projects that are being implemented currently.

CWSS Stage-IV Phase-2

Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage IV Phase – II

Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Project-II (Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage IV Phase-II) has been taken up with Financial Assistance from Japan International Co-operation Agency (Rs. 2,830 crores) at an estimated cost of Rs. 3383.70 crores. Government of Karnataka has accorded Administrative approval to the scheme vide GO dated 08.06.2005. The scheme consists of 13 Water Supply contracts and 16 Sewerage Contract Packages apart from Distribution Improvement Component (UFW), Slum Development Component and Management Improvement Component.
Water Supply: (13 Contract Packages)
Tenders are awarded for all the 13 contract packages. Tender for supply of MS plates is completed (3 Contract Package). The works which are under progress are noted below:-
1. Tender for Raw Water Transmission (1 Contract Package).
2. Water Treatment Plant at T.K.halli (1 Contract Package)
3. Electro Mechanical & pumping units at T.K Halli Harohalli & Tataguni (1 Contract Package).
4. Tenders for Transmission mains from T.K.halli to Bangalore (3 Contract Packages).
5. Clear water trunk main in the city ( 2 Packages).
6. City Reservoirs and 1 Pumping Stations ( 2 Contract Packages) ,
The above 10 Contract packages are proposed for completion by March 2012
Sewerage Components- Construction of STPs with ISPs ( 5 Contract packages) and Replacement and Rehabilitation of Sewer Lines( 10 Packages) :
Out of 9 Sewerage Contract packages, 5 Contract packages cover construction of 11Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) with 5 Intermediate Pumping Stations (ISPS) at selected locations in the city. It is proposed to treat 339 MLD of sewage. Concurrence from JICA for repackOut of 9 Sewerage Contract packages, 5 Contract packages cover 11 Sewage Treatment Plants with 5 Intermediate Sewerage Pumping Stations (ISPS) at selected locations in the city. It is proposed to treat 339 MLD of sewage.
Tenders have been invited for one package i.e contract S1c- STP at K & C Valley vide notification dated 24.6.2011. The last date for submission of completed tenders is on 16-01-2012. Draft Bid documents for the other 4 packages are ready and tenders will be invited shortly.
Out of 3 packages under Replacement / Rehabilitation of existing sewerage system, tenders in respect of 3 packages were cancelled due to high tender percentage. It is now proposed to invite fresh Bids for all the three packages by splitting with initial filter into 10 smaller packages for which concurrence from JICA is received. Tenders have been invited for 9 Contract Packages. Completed tenders have been received for 9 contract packages and Technical Evaluation is under process. For the balance one contract package, tenders will be invited shortly.
Under the above component, procurement of high flow jetting machines is envisaged. When the tenders were invited earlier, the offers received from 2 firms were similar and the tender was cancelled for which concurrence from JICA is received. Tenders are invited on 08-09-2011 with last date for submission as 29-10-2011. The Technical Evaluation is under progress for the Tenders received till the last date.
The Sewage component is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
Distribution Improvement Component (UFW ) :
Under the above component, it is proposed to replace old corroded / encrusted pipe lines in the 5 water supply divisions of the Board in order to Improve the water supply distribution system for about 3 Lakhs consumer connections. The Project will help in improving the pressure at the consumer end and improve consumer satisfaction level.
In the first instance, work will be taken up in South Water Supply Division. Tender has been invited for the South Water supply Division (contract D2b) with receipt of completed tenders as 07-02-2011. The Technical Evaluation Report of 7 Firms was placed in the Board Meeting held on 08-06-2011 and 2.7.2011. Now the subject is cleared by the Board and letter has been addressed to JICA on 11-11-2011 for approval to open the Price Proposals of eligible bidders.
Slum Development Components:
It is proposed to provide Water Supply and sanitary facilities to 362 slums in the BBMP area. In the first instance, it is proposed to be taken up in 120 slums in the City under 4 contract packages, in co-ordination with NGO’s during the current year. In order to identify the NGO’s, tender process was initiated and 4 NGOs were appointed under the “Social Mobilization” Component during October 2010. The NGOs have submitted Assessment Report for 120 Slums and balance work is under progress. Based on this the Project consultants are preparing designs, estimates and Bid documents, so as to call Tenders for the civil works.
The civil works are expected to be completed by Sept. 2013.
Management improvement services :

Under the above, it is proposed to install 45 Kiosks in Water Supply Divisions in the city. Tenders were invited vide Notification dated 03-03-2011. 3 Tenders have been received. As per the Technical Evaluation Report only one tender was found to be eligible for further process. JICA was addressed for concurrence to recall the tender since only one tender was eligible. However, JICA in their letter dated 16-11-2011 have informed to further process the single tender and open the financial Bid.
